EK Myerson (b. 1995) is an artist working with text, film, drawing & medievalism. They are currently a Wellcome Trust Postdoctoral Researcher at UCL History of Art, developing a new practice-based project on 'vinegar as biotechnology' (2026—2029). They are making an interlinked creative-critical book & film exploring bodily transformation in medieval alchemy & their own experience. They use methods like stop motion animation, lost wax casting & wearable sculpture. Drawing on archival research, their work unravels into auto-fictional & conversational forms, giving a sense of history as intimately felt.
EK recently completed their MA in Contemporary Art Practice at the RCA (2026) & has a PhD in medieval literature from Birkbeck College (2022). Their first book, The Desire for Syria in Medieval England, launched at the Warburg Institute in January 2026. Their work has been presented at Kettle’s Yard, Birkbeck Institute of the Moving Image, Genesis Cinema, Chelsea College of Art, The Hockney Gallery (RCA), Hypha HQ, Hypha Southbank & The Trans+ Virtual Centre of Excellence. They have an upcoming solo show at bric. gallery in Dalston (December 2026).
