The installation, But these misgivings proved to be unjus- focuses on an empty box of Palestinian dates, situated alongside collaged texts and images related to the premodern & contemporary date trade, collected from the Warburg Institute. Works from this series were exhibited in the inaugural RCA Palestine Society group show (Hockney Gallery, 1.03.25).
These works are accompanied by a free zine of an internal bulletin which the artist’s great-uncle Hosea Jaffe wrote for the South African Communist Party in 1946, ‘On Palestine and the Jews’.
