EK Myerson (b. 1995) is an artist & writer using materiality & associative wordplay to avoid dissociation. Through text, sculpture, drawing and film, they offer a fragmentary invitation to reflect on queer life and touch. Their practice is rooted in archival research but unravels into speculative, auto-fictional and conversational forms, giving a haptic sense of history as something intimately felt. Their methods include welding & lost wax casting.
EK investigates subjects including queer cinema, medieval alchemy and the failure of illusion. Their first book, The Desire for Syria in Medieval England, was published by Cambridge University Press (December 2025). They have a PhD in medieval literature (Birkbeck College, 2022) & have held Research Fellowships funded by Wellcome Trust/Birkbeck ISSF & the Parker Library. They are currently studying Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art. Recently, they have been performing their writing in spaces including basements and the foyer of gallery toilets.
